Adoption Agreement
This Adoption Agreement outlines the responsibilities and expectations of adopting an animal from Right Fit Rescue. Our goal is to ensure that every animal is placed in a safe, stable, and loving home for life. By adopting, you acknowledge and agree to the terms below.
Commitment to Care
By adopting an animal from Right Fit Rescue, you agree to provide proper care for the duration of the animal’s life. This includes adequate food, clean water, shelter, exercise, training, and companionship. Animals are social beings and should not be left isolated or neglected.
You understand that adopting an animal is a long-term commitment that may require time, patience, and financial resources.
Veterinary Care
You agree to provide regular veterinary care, including routine wellness exams, vaccinations, parasite prevention, and prompt treatment for illness or injury.
You acknowledge that animals adopted through Right Fit Rescue may have unknown medical histories. Right Fit Rescue does not guarantee the future health, temperament, or behavior of any animal.
If the animal is not already spayed or neutered at the time of adoption, you agree to have the procedure completed by a licensed veterinarian within the timeframe specified by Right Fit Rescue.
Living Environment
You agree to provide a safe and appropriate living environment for the adopted animal. This includes protection from extreme weather, access to indoor space when appropriate, and a secure area that prevents escape.
The adopted animal may not be chained, tethered, or confined in a manner that causes distress, injury, or neglect.
Training and Behavior
You understand that animals may require time to adjust to a new home. You agree to use humane, positive training methods and will not use abusive, neglectful, or punitive practices.
If behavioral challenges arise, you agree to seek guidance from a qualified trainer, veterinarian, or behavior professional before considering rehoming.
Transfer and Rehoming
The adopted animal may not be sold, given away, abandoned, or transferred to another person, shelter, rescue, or organization without prior approval from Right Fit Rescue.
If at any point you are unable to keep the animal, you agree to contact Right Fit Rescue first so that we can assist with a safe return or rehoming plan.
Prohibited Uses
You agree that the adopted animal will not be used for breeding, fighting, experimentation, or any illegal or harmful purpose.
The animal may not be used for guard, attack, or working purposes unless explicitly approved by Right Fit Rescue in advance.
Right Fit Rescue’s Rights
Right Fit Rescue reserves the right to reclaim the adopted animal if the terms of this agreement are violated or if the animal is found to be neglected, abused, or placed in unsafe conditions.
You understand that Right Fit Rescue’s primary responsibility is the welfare of the animal.
Liability
You acknowledge that animals can behave unpredictably. By adopting, you assume full responsibility for the animal’s actions and any damage or injury that may occur.
Right Fit Rescue is not liable for any injury, damage, or loss caused by the adopted animal after adoption.
Agreement and Acknowledgment
By completing the adoption process, you acknowledge that you have read, understand, and agree to abide by the terms of this Adoption Agreement. You affirm that the information you provided during the adoption process is accurate and complete.
