About Right Fit Rescue

Right Fit Rescue is a foster-based animal rescue focused on responsible placement, community education, and helping people navigate safe options for animals in need.

Our Mission

Our mission is to reduce animal overpopulation through rescue, TNR, education, and connecting our community with affordable spay and neuter, veterinary care, and other resources, while helping families keep their pets whenever possible.

Rescue & Placement

We focus on safe, responsible placement through adoption and foster-based care.

Foster Network

Foster homes are the backbone of our rescue model and make care possible outside a shelter environment.

Community Resources

We share practical guidance and resource pathways for low-cost care, rehoming support, and spay/neuter navigation.

How We Work

Right Fit Rescue is a foster-based organization. This model allows us to provide individualized care, but it also means our capacity depends on available foster homes and resources.

Foster-Based Care

Animals in our program live in foster homes rather than a central shelter. This helps reduce stress, supports recovery, and allows us to learn more about each animal’s needs.

  • Home-based care and socialization
  • Individual attention and observation
  • Health and behavior monitored closely

Capacity & Intake

Because we rely on foster homes, we cannot guarantee immediate intake or placement. Decisions are made based on safety, available space, and the needs of animals already in our care.

  • Intake depends on foster availability
  • Urgency and safety are prioritized
  • Responsible pacing over volume

Responsible Placement

Our goal is long-term success. We focus on matching animals with appropriate homes rather than moving animals quickly without adequate preparation.

  • Adoption readiness and support
  • Clear expectations for adopters
  • Emphasis on stability and fit
Why this matters: A foster-based model allows us to act humanely and responsibly, even when that means moving more slowly.

What We Do (and Don’t Do)

Clear expectations help everyone. Here’s what Right Fit Rescue focuses on, and what we do not provide directly.

We do

  • Rescue, foster-based care, and responsible adoption placement
  • Volunteer coordination and community engagement
  • Resource navigation and education (low-cost care, rehoming guidance)
  • Support pathways for community cats and TNR navigation
  • Ongoing guidance to promote safe outcomes

We do not

  • Provide emergency veterinary services
  • Fund veterinary care for privately owned animals or animals in other rescues
  • Guarantee intake, immediate placement, or appointment availability
  • Provide spay/neuter or TNR surgeries directly
  • Offer medical guarantees for animals after adoption

Our Story

Right Fit Rescue exists because we believe animals deserve safety, stability, and humane outcomes. We focus on practical action—foster-based care, responsible placement, and community support.

Why we do this

We’ve seen how quickly animals can fall through gaps when resources are limited. Our goal is to create safer pathways—through foster care, education, and structured next steps.

How we approach rescue

We prioritize animal welfare and long-term stability over fast volume. That means being honest about capacity, focusing on fit, and making decisions that are sustainable.

Where we’re headed

We aim to keep strengthening our foster network, improve community resource access, and create clearer guidance for rehoming, TNR navigation, and support options.
